Project:

ME, MYSELF & YOU

Me, Myself, and You is an exploration of self concept and its sources of variation. The genotype is coded within the structure of DNA and predisposes each person to respond to the environment in particular way.

Although genetic hardwiring may set limits on developmental possibilities, its expression must always occur in the context of an environment. The intensely private and individually unique experience of selfhood reflects this dynamic at the psychological level. Our construals of who we are reflects a constant interplay between a genetic blueprint and environmental factors which mirror back to us how we are perceived and evaluated by others.

Medium: Iron and stainless steel sculpture with mirrors.

Group Show: Durham Art Gallery, January 27th - March 22nd, 2015.
